
Jennifer Smollinger is the Director of Education & Hiring Specialist at Valotta Studios. She has a bachelor’s degree in Music Education with her concentration in Piano and a master’s degree in Piano Pedagogy from West Chester University of PA. She currently holds her level two music certification in the state of PA for grades K-12.
Prior to rejoining Valotta Studios, Jennifer taught middle school music technology classes at Ancillae-Assumpta Academy in Wyncote, PA. During her 12 years of teaching, Jennifer directed choral classes, service musicians who played at school masses, the Music Tech Ensemble and the handbell ensembles, as well as assisted with the school band and mixed choir. She taught grades 5-8 in an Apple computer lab, instructing in classroom piano and guitar as well as teaching students how to use the program GarageBand to record and create their own music. Jennifer also taught private piano lessons during the school day for students in grades K-8, preparing students twice a year for recitals. During her last year at Ancillae, Jennifer became the Fine Arts Coordinator, overseeing both the music and art department as well as directing the school-wide musical Getting to Know Footloose!
Jennifer has been teaching private piano lessons since 2005, starting at Friedlander Piano Studios in West Chester and then eventually joining Valotta Studios from 2013 – 2018. She is excited to return in her new role and bring her passion for music to the students at the studio!
