Zack Hartmann is a graduate of The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music with a B.F.A. in Jazz Performance.  Originally from Seattle, he has studied classical piano since age 3, and at age 10 began playing the upright acoustic bass.  Several years later, he picked up the electric bass and dicovered an interest in a much wider variety of music.  While attending college in New York City, he learned to produce and engineer music while playing with bands around the greater NYC area.  He currently resides in Chester Springs where he and his band mates built and operate their recording studio.

Mr. Zack is truly one of Valotta’s finest teachers and we are incredibly grateful to have him as a teacher for our daughter. He has adapted to teaching songs that hold her interest, genuinely cares about supporting the growth of his students, and has pushed her to constantly advance her skills. My daughter eagerly looks forward to her lessons each week and is thriving. As she puts it, ‘I got lucky having him as my teacher. He is amazing!” She wants to continue as she can learn from Mr. Zack, which, coming from a teenager, speaks volumes!
